Homey ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Abode. This Privacy Policy explains what information Homey collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Homey, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if you choose to add one). You may sign in using Apple, Google, or email — we receive the basic profile information those services provide (name, email).

• Content you create. Prayer requests, praise reports, comments, notes on Scripture, and voice memos you record and send. Voice memos are stored securely and only shared with the recipients you choose.

• Location (optional). If you enable location sharing, we collect your city, region, and country — never your precise GPS coordinates — to power features like "Homeys Near You." This is off by default and only activated if you turn it on. You can disable it at any time, which removes this data from your profile.

• Connected services (optional). If you connect Spotify, we access basic playback information (your playlists, currently playing track) solely to power in-app music features. We do not access or store your Spotify password — authentication happens directly through Spotify.

• Usage data. We use PostHog to understand how people use the app (which screens are visited, whether onboarding completes successfully) so we can improve it. This data is used in aggregate and is not sold to third parties.

• Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a device token that lets us send you notifications about prayer requests, live streams, and community activity.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate core app features (posting, prayer, community, live streams, Bible study)

• To send you notifications, you've opted into

• To maintain the safety of the community (reviewing reports, enforcing blocks)

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

• We do not share your precise location — we only ever store city/region/country, and only if you opt in.

• We do not access your Spotify password or post on your behalf without your action.

Data Sharing

We share data with the service providers that power Homey's functionality: Supabase (database and file storage), LiveKit (live audio streams), Spotify (if you connect it), and Apple/Google (if you sign in with them). Their own privacy and security practices bind each of these providers.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do, we delete your profile, posts, notes, and voice memos, except where retaining certain records is required for legal or safety purposes (such as content already reported for moderation review).

Children's Privacy

Homey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your Choices

• Location sharing: off by default, toggle anytime in Settings.

• Push notifications: control via your device's notification settings.

• Connected accounts: disconnect Spotify, Apple, or Google at any time in Settings.

• Account deletion: available anytime in Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Homey evolves. We'll note the "last updated" date above when we do, and for significant changes, we'll notify you directly in the app.
